This outpouring of glbt voices was a direct response to recent ant Show Notes: On Saturday, Nov. 15th, 300+ cities around the country held rallies in support of Gay Marriage and hate free communities. This outpouring of glbt voices was a direct response to recent anti-gay legislation passed in 3 states Nov 4th. California, Arizona and Florida all passed anti-gay marriage legislation. California’s high profile “Proposition 8” received the most media attention but the others also passed and stirred loud opposition in the both the glbt community and the progressive community. Arkansas also passed an anti gay adoption measure. Nashville had a pretty good turnout of approximately 250+ on the courthouse steps. The weather was cold and rainy most of the morning but cleared up somewhat during the Rally itself. Emily and I went over to the new glbt coffeehouse on Church St called REVIVE beforehand and I spoke with one of the patrons beforehand about his thoughts on the issue.
